A great report from the Harry Potter: The Exhibition is now online and includes some pictures as well as a detailed descriptionopens in new window and video of what fans can see once they arrive.

A little snippet:

Hogwarts' Great Hall, complete with lighted candles overhead, is the most dramatic stop on the tour. There are lavish (but obviously faux) displays of food, intricate costumes and a batch of props used in Yule Ball scenes in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, including Cho Chang's tiny earrings.

There are so many small items on display that visitors might have to hunt for their favorites. The Golden Snitch used in Quidditch matches is here, its wings spread. The Time-Turner used by Harry and Hermione Granger to travel back in time in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is in a case. The Monster Book of Monsters, a book about monsters that actually is a monster, is on a shelf in Hagrid's hut and has minutely detailed teeth and claws.

Other elements are grandly theatrical. Bad guy Voldemort's flowing costume is on a larger-than-life mannequin, the Goblet of Fire casket is imposing, and giant chess pieces from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone seem to have been hewn from solid rock.

We will have HPANA's exclusive report from the exhibit online in a few days.
